It's 8 o'clock.

It's 8 o'clock somewhere. Are you riding the Harley to sunset? Are you having a beer on the boat? Playing with your grandkids? Or are you stuck in the office, because the tools do not work. Because another software tool, or a so-called IT expert, broke a promise. Because you are still filing paper.

Where would you rather be? I do not take the 8 o'clock call. That one is the trade. I take the second job. The crew is done, and you are still at the table, because the job is in one system and not in the books. Or the invoice is still a paper ticket in the truck.

You leave with a written integration map. Audit first. Nothing texts a customer or spends money until you say so. I do not invent case studies.

01 / The offer

Not a new operating system.

You are not buying a second platform to get off the kitchen table. ServiceTitan launched Max, its own agent, on October 6, 2026. Limited capacity. Pricing not published. Waitlist. The core platform does not publish prices either. Third-party reports in 2026 commonly put it at $245 to $500 per technician per month, median near $325, plus Pro add-ons and an implementation people report from $5,000 to $50,000 and up. A 10-tech shop is often described at $50,000 to $75,000 in year one before AI. Those are estimates. ServiceTitan did not publish them.

Most owner-led shops in this corridor cannot justify that second platform. ServiceTitan's 2026 commercial report found four out of five shops running one job across two to ten systems. That sample is commercial, not a small crew. The failure is the same shape. The crew's notes are in one book. QuickBooks is another. You type the job again after the crew is done. I connect the one you have. One narrow agent. The purchase is the second job, the one that does not pay, not a new operating system. I keep six retainer clients.

  1. Free15-minute discovery. Written map before any invoice.
  2. $799Founding assessment. Scoped agent, security option, go or no-go.
  3. $1,500 to $12,000Implementation. One agent. Range depends on systems and writes.
  4. $1,200 to $2,000 / moRetainer after it is live. Six seats. That is the cap.

02 / The office

Your systems. Not a new suite.

The crew is done. The customer is handled. You are at the kitchen table because the job is still in two places, and one of them is often still paper. These are the systems that keep you there.

  • JobberA small crew. The job is finished in Jobber. QuickBooks still needs a second typing after they go home. That typing is the night.
  • Housecall ProThe sale is done. The app has one version. The paper ticket in the truck has another. The books have neither until you type it.
  • ServiceTitanThe shop big enough that the price is a quote. A bookkeeper posted in May 2026 that the push into QuickBooks is a mess. Another dropped a client because a payment landed on the oldest invoice. You find that at the table.
  • QuickBooksAlmost always the books. A payroll clerk in February 2025 had to convert 74.43 on a ServiceTitan timecard before QuickBooks would take the hours. 74.43 there is hours and minutes, not decimal hours. Someone does that conversion at the table.
  • CompanyCamThe photos of the job. They sit in CompanyCam until someone files them onto the invoice, after the crew is gone.

Under that, the mail

  • Microsoft 365Mail, the files, and the calendar the office already opens. I do not replace them.
  • Gemini for small businessGoogle, October 20, 2026. Tools in the Gemini app for small business owners, on Workspace. Mail, files, calendar. Rolling out over the coming days.
  • Meta MuseMeta's personal agent, launched September 8, 2026. It can act in the apps you connect. It still waits for you before it spends money or writes a customer.

They do not share one job. That second typing is what I take off the kitchen table. On October 20, 2026 Google announced Gemini tools for small business owners, on top of Workspace, so the mail and the files are one conversation. ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro, and QuickBooks are not on that list. I tie them to the crew.

I've spent 20 years in the trenches with trade crews, using the most efficient workflows and methods I could find, and creating better ones when I couldn't. For 15 of those years I have been implementing advanced technology into construction workflows, and for the past 10 years I have worked inside the biggest tech companies, delivering tools and features to contractors like you. AWS. Matterport. NavVis. Starbucks, on computer vision and edge AI. I do not start with AI. I start with how the work gets done, because that is where I come from. The rest is on the about page.

What you are buying

After the crew is done.

The call at 8 is the trade. I do not sell you out of that. I sell the second job, the one that does not pay. The crew is done. The customer is handled. You are still at the kitchen table. That hour is the Harley, the boat catching fish, the cabin, and a vacation you already paid for.

  • The day ends twice

SupplyHouse, 2026, 303 US skilled trades workers: 54 percent take a call after 8 p.m. at least weekly, and 60 percent take a weekend call that often. ServiceTitan's residential HVAC calls in 2025: 14.1 percent of June calls arrived outside Monday to Friday, 8 to 5. That call is the trade.

I do not take the 8 o'clock call off your night. I take the paperwork that starts after the crew is done. That paperwork was the cabin weekend, and the week you already booked.

  • Done in the field, open on the kitchen table

ServiceTitan, 2026: 80 percent of commercial specialty contractors run one job across two to ten systems. That sample is not a small crew. The shape is the same. The invoice is still a paper ticket in the truck. The same job is already in an app. QuickBooks does not have a clean copy of either. Shops are stuck between paper and digital.

I connect ServiceTitan, Jobber, or Housecall Pro into QuickBooks. One typing. The mail can stay in Workspace, including Gemini tools for small business owners. I take that second typing.

  • The tape and the sketch

An ATI property-scanning study, with Matterport TruePlan, timed one 373 sq ft loss. Tape and a sketch took about 25 minutes. The scan took about 5. A review scored the hand sketch 66 percent accurate and the scan 99 percent. That is one study, not your shop.

The phone makes the plan. I do not sell you a scanner. I make the plan land on the job you already run, so you are not drawing it again at the table.

Owners already post about that second job. Public posts. Not my clients. A plumber posted in July 2025 that nights after a day of calls are paperwork and invoicing. It feels like doubling the work. An HVAC owner posted in September 2025 that quoting runs into the evening at home. When the week in the field is full, the leftover takes evenings and sometimes weekends. A different person in that thread said weekends get sacrificed. A contractor posted in January 2026 that the day is on site and the evening is remembering what was agreed. A reply: two jobs, and only one of them used tools. Another reply: only one of those jobs pays. In May 2026 a bookkeeper called the ServiceTitan to QuickBooks sync a mess. Another dropped a client because a payment in ServiceTitan landed on the oldest invoice in QuickBooks. A payroll clerk in February 2025 converted 74.43 on a ServiceTitan timecard into a different number before QuickBooks would take the hours. 74.43 there is hours and minutes, not decimal hours.

Only one of those jobs pays. The other is the kitchen table. It keeps you off the Harley. It keeps you off the boat, catching fish. It keeps you away from the cabin. It keeps you off a vacation you already paid for. I do not take the 8 o'clock call. I take the second job. What is left is the Harley, or the boat catching fish, or the cabin, or the week you already booked. I do not promise the phone will stay quiet.

03 / The customer

They should see the day.

The customer is not on the crew. They come home and the house is different. I give them the day: what was done, the photos, one line. The thing that is not finished stays visible. Nothing is hidden in a truck.

At the end they get a packet for their own records. What went in. Where the shutoff is. The warranty. The photos. They keep it. The next tech, or the next owner, is not starting from a story.

Retyping, and cash that has been invoiced.

The only survey number in here is 15 days. ServiceTitan’s July 2026 survey of 1,020 commercial owners found 96 percent waiting at least that long, after 82 percent had invoiced within three days. Every other field is yours. Jobs, systems, minutes, and wages are blanks. Three systems, six minutes, and $28 are not a study.

Copies a week = jobs × (systems − 1). Hours = copies × minutes ÷ 60. Year = hours × 52 × wage × (1 + burden). Cash sitting = invoices × average × days ÷ 30. Cash sitting is not money lost.
